The tour runs about two hours and forty-five minutes and starts from the lobby of Hotel Albuquerque\, just blocks from the historic Plaza. \nFrom there\, the walk winds through Old Town’s oldest landmarks: the Plaza itself\, where your guide covers Albuquerque’s 1706 founding and the story behind the two historic howitzers still parked on the grounds; the San Felipe de Neri Church\, built that same year by Spanish settlers and still an active parish today; and the Capilla de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe\, a tucked-away “hidden chapel” most visitors walk right past. \nBetween stops\, expect real New Mexican staples — green chile stew\, biscochitos\, and other regional favorites — paired with tastings along the way. Every bite comes with the story behind it\, from Pueblo and Spanish colonial roots to the green chile debates that still divide the state. \nTours require a minimum of four guests to run and involve close to a mile of walking at a relaxed pace\, so comfortable shoes are recommended.
