Old Town Albuquerque at sunset in February is one of the Southwest's most quietly romantic settings. The 300-year-old adobe buildings glow warm gold in the late afternoon light, the Plaza is unhurried and beautiful, and the restaurants and wine bars have pulled out their best for Valentine's weekend.
The Valentine's walk begins at the San Felipe de Neri Church — standing on this spot since 1793 — and moves through the narrow lanes of the historic district, past trading posts, galleries, and courtyards draped in red and pink for the season.
Several restaurants along Rio Grande Blvd offer Valentine's weekend wine tastings and special menus. The light in Old Town in February has a quality that summer cannot match.
Santuario Grande guests are 10 minutes away.
