Flyover Excitement at SantuaRio Grande Today

Excitement filled the air early this morning at SantuaRio Grande. While some of our guests chose to sleep in after their pre-dawn excursions on Friday, today proved to be a day worth staying right here on the property. Brightly colored balloons followed a perfect flight path overhead, drifting close enough to see the intricate designs on their envelopes and offering incredible viewing opportunities from the rooftop and grounds.

With The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta , running from October 5-13 this year, we’ve already had two spectacular mornings of balloon sightings right from our property. Located just three miles, or about ten minutes, from Balloon Fiesta Park in the charming  Village of Los Ranchos de Albuquerque  , SantuaRio Grande offers a unique seat to this magical event. Guests often ask, “Can I see the balloons from the property?” I always remind them that, while there are no guarantees due to temperature, wind patterns, and pilot skills, when the conditions align, it’s truly a sight to behold—one that fills me with a childlike sense of wonder every time.
